Teething has been plaguing us again. I say us because as all mothers know, a teething baby is hard on mama as well as babe. Signs of teething in Finn have become easily recognizable and I have sacrificed my share of good night’s rest to the cause.
Some favourite teething treatments include Punkin’ Butt Teething Oil, which Finn has come to recognize and calm at the sight of. We bought it here. This oil mixture includes drops of chamomile, peppermint and cloves. Skeptical of its effect, I even tried it myself and was surprised at how well it numbed my gums!
We’ve just added a new weapon to our teething arsenal. Meet The Beaver Teether, a collaboration piece brought together by The Wild Kids Apparel and the maker of this burly teether, otherware. Fair-trade and handmade in Canada, this teether is made with buttery soft, non-toxic silicone and organic maple. It has become an instant favourite with my little beaver.
Monochromatic not your thing? There are so many colour combinations to choose from and mix and match. otherware makes pacifier clips, necklaces, and the most gorgeous stacks. The wearables are some of my favourite pieces as they ensure mama always has a teething toy nearby when crankiness hits. We love our stackable bracelet in white.
The best part about otherware products? Rae Brown, the maker behind these modern teething toys, is a mama of young Chloe who started up this company just over four months ago. I celebrate entrepreneurial mamas like Rae for how they juggle motherhood, their drive to create and the business of their craft.
What’s more, we’ve teamed up with otherware to offer a giveaway of The Beaver Teether to one lucky baby beaver. Check out @millennial.mama on Instagram to enter. Good luck!
